~~OTIS~~
BACK FROM FOSTER and READY FOR HIS FOREVER HOME!

Here's what his foster mom wants you to know about Otis:

"We fostered Otis September 20, 2007 to February 20, 2008. When he first came to live with us he needed some special care. He had just had surgery and most of his teeth were extracted. Otis is now a very healthy and loving bunny.

Otis is very gentle. He loves to be pet and to be held. Since he only has his molars, he can't bite. He can't chew on cords or furniture either. His green food has to be julienned, but other than that, eating is no problem for Otis. He loves food.

Otis is a smart bunny. His cage is on the second floor. We used to bring him down to the first floor to run around. It took him no time to find the cat food - which we promptly removed - but he never failed to check it out to see if the food was there. It also took him no time to learn how to climb the stairs and to find the room where his cage was. He was always very neat and has never had an "accident" while out of his cage.

Otis has no problem living alongside cats. Actually, the cats were more concerned about Otis than Otis was about the cats! Otis was also to a small dog. Otis didn't seem to be bothered. He just carried on with his business.

Otis is a very sweet, adorable bunny. He deserves a very good permanent home. We fostered Otis as a bunny in need of care because we knew we couldn't keep a bunny permanently. My daughter is graduating from high school in June and will go off to college and I am planning to move out of the area. It was very hard to bring Otis back to SaveABunny, but we feel he is very healthy and deserves a very good home. He is such a wonderful bunny - I can't imagine anyone finding a better bunny than Otis!

Otis had his surgery and his teeth were in much worse condition than we expected. In addition to his incisors needing to be extracted, several of his molars were infected and unsalvageable and also needed to be pulled.

The good news is that he is doing very well!
We are extremely grateful to Dr. Debra Scheenstra for her fine dental surgery , as well as to those of you who made contributions toward helping Otis and us with his medical expenses. This has been a tough time for us losing our mascot, Oinky and other rescue emergencies, so I apologize if I am slow to respond to individual donations. However, PLEASE know how grateful we all are to you for your help!!! You will be hearing from me soon, Marcy

ADOPTION NOTE: If you would like to adopt Otis, his adoption fee is $300 to help offset some of our medical expenses and allow us to help teh next rabbit in need.

Otis, formerly Buddy at SFACC, is now at SaveABunny. He was seen by Dr. Debra Scheenstra who recommened immediate removal of his incisors and treatments to his back molars. Otis's teeth are so bad that they are growing out of his mouth sideways!
His expenses will likely top $1000, so your donations are very helpful to allow us to rescue needy bunnies like Otis that have no other rescue options.
